Educational Philosophy and Approach Play is a major component of the program combined with activities such as: storytelling, reading stories, arts and crafts, music and movement, singing, puppetry, games, sewing, gardening, cooking, physical-knowledge activities, and outdoor play. Readiness skills in literacy and math are taught individually or in small groups using developmentally appropriate activities and materials. Our program places special emphasis on social development and language development in two languages. The curriculum is presented through monthly themes. Much of the curriculum content is centered on the world of nature and cycles of the year. A specialist in creative movement and storytelling enrich the curriculum with weekly classes. The classroom environment is serene and soothing. Most of the classroom furniture is hand-made of wood. Many playthings are handcrafted from natural materials such as wood, cotton and silk.
