Service Description

Hand In Hand Christian Montessori offers education from infant through 12th grade with a full-time private education option, as well as a 3 day home school hybrid. HIH has been educating learners for over 20 years. Our new permanent location opens opportunities for full-time infant and toddler care. Our Infant & Toddler Day Care program is a uniquely designed environment providing only the best for babies and toddlers. Nido means nest in Italian and our restraint-free environment is nurturing and beautiful for the youngest members of our community. Both babies (6 months to 18 months) and toddlers (18 months to 36 months) freely flow throughout their day by playing when ready, sleeping when tired and eating when hungry. We have 2 Day, 3 Day, or 5 Day options available from 8:45 AM-3:10 PM. Children, ages 3 and 4, work with the Montessori curriculum in a Christian context throughout the morning. Trained teachers give beautiful lessons on a daily basis to help children grow in independence, respect, and responsibility. The classroom has distinct areas of learning: Mathematics (3 & 5 Day only) Language Arts (3 & 5 Day only) The Atrium with the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Practical Life Sensorial Cultural Musikgarten classes called “Cycle of Seasons.” After the morning work cycle, children eat lunch, play outside, rest/nap, followed by continued work time with Montessori materials. Kindergarten/Extended Day We have 2 Day, 3 Day, or 5 Day options available from 8:45 AM-3:10 PM. Children, ages 5 and 6, spend the morning in Children’s House (as described above) and then eat lunch, where grace and manners are emphasized. In the afternoon, lessons in language and mathematics are expanded using Kin-esthetic materials. This enables the child to enjoy and explore the world, completely understand various operations and result in math and language concepts being easily attainable.

About Us

We believe each child is a UNIQUE CHILD, with inquisitive, creative, inspiring natural bents. They move through development stages, called sensitive periods, in which particular learning is at its optimum level. For children, education can be a joyful process in a PREPARED ENVIRONMENT of continuous learning, using proper educational tools that are hands-on and encourage and self-correct. We believe in creating a cooperative classroom that is child-sized, safe, and sensorial-based that fosters respect, responsibility and resourcefulness. A Montessori-style classroom houses beautiful, natural materials of religious education, practical life, sensorial refinement, mathematics, language arts, natural science, history, geography and creative arts. Hand In Hand’s purpose is to provide learners, infant to senior high, with a carefully prepared environments that are brought to life by EQUIPPED TEACHERS, who serves as mentors and guides, and who have been trained in this work to help children learn for themselves. Hand In Hand invites PASSIONATE PARENTS to participate in presentations and discussions related to children and families in a context of godly values and spiritual support (Titus 2:3-5). As advocates of the home, our mission is to strengthen families by educating parents in their role as their child’s first and most important teacher, nurturer, and role model (Proverbs 22:6). Hand In Hand has three unique features that set it apart from others: Christ Centered: We love Jesus. He is at the center of everything of who we are, why we educate, and what we teach. There are many Montessori schools, but very few Christian Montessori schools. Learn more » Constructivist Education: Learning is an active and constructive process. Constructivist education emphasizes hands-on involvement, critical thinking, problem-solving, and social collaboration. There are many traditional schools using the behavioral model, but very few constructivist models. Learn more » Collaborative: We work hand-in-hand with parents, hand-in-hand with Christ, hand-in-hand with children, and the the children work hand-in-hand with each other. There are many professional educational program, but very few that emphasize, encourage, and embrace the parent’s role in educating their own child.
