Pre-Professional Dance Training

New Jersey contains a wealth of artistically gifted children and youth who possess a strong and irrepressible desire to express and develop their creative expressions. Unfortunately, not all can meet the expense of financing their dreams and fulfilling their artistic aspirations. This is the reason The New Jersey Creative Dance Troupe (NJCDT) was founded. The NJCDT is an affordable dance program which offers authentic and true pre-professional dance training in preparation for an actual professional dance career. The NJCDT is not just an afterschool dance program. It is a Pre-Professional dance program designed to develop the technique and artistry of its members. Our dancers also receive performance experience and are introduced to the process of auditioning so that they may build their confidence. They learn the ethics, etiquette, and professionalism necessary to be successful in a professional dance company. When they are ready, we strongly encourage our dancers to audition for the dance opportunities of their choice, supplying them with audition information, support, and motivation. In essence, when our dancers leave The NJCDT, they are thoroughly prepared to enter the real world of professional dance. The NJCDT accepts male and female members between the ages of 13 and 16 through audition. No prior dance training experience is required to audition, as we offer full dance training. Youths who audition but who are not yet ready artistically to join the Troupe are accepted to The NJCDT Workshop. The Workshop prepares its dancers to advance as members of the Troupe. The NJCDT also offers training for children ages 5 through 12 through the Rising Stars Program. The purpose of The Rising Stars Program is to introduce its dancers to the art of dance and prepare them so that they may join the Workshop or the Troupe in the future. We care for our youth. We want them to achieve their dreams as professional dancers. We are with them each step of the way.
