Red Clay Dance Classes for Kids (Ballet and more)

The Red Clay Dance Academy is the official school of Red Clay Dance Company; the only dance school located on Chicago’s south side operated by a touring dance company. We are committed to offering world-class dance training for youth, teens and adults. Our classes are open to ages 1 and up. DIVISIONS: Dovetails (Ages 1-4) An introduction to movement, rhythm and expression, classes in our dovetail division expose students to the cultural elements of the african diaspora including community, language and the love of dance! Pre-Academy (Ages 5-7) With a focus on preparing young Artivists for more serious technical training our pre-academy classes mix fun, discipline and culture to inspire greatness! Academy/Conservatory (Ages 8-17) Designed to produce artistic excellence in developing artists, our Academy Conservatory division provides rigorous training with a focus on techniques from the African Diaspora supported by classical dance forms. Conservatory students ages 13-17 (taking two or more classes) are eligible to audition for the RED CLAY DANCE YOUTH ENSEMBLE. Selected students enjoy the opportunity to work with professional choreographers and participate in a full performance season.
