Toddlers Through Adult Ballet Classes

My background is as follows: B.A. and M.A. in Philosophy from San Jose State University; Preliminary Single Subject Teaching Credential in English (exp. 2001), a Life-time California Community College Teaching Credential in Dance. I graduated from San Jose State University with the M.A. in 1985 (GPA 4.0). In the spring of 2012 I was awarded an Excellence in Teaching award from Grossmont College, where I teach philosophy. I have been a ballet and dance teacher and choreographer since 1972. I am the owner and director of School of Ballet Arts in Santee, CA. I have taught ballet at institutions such as, California Ballet, San Diego Civic Youth Ballet, San Jose City College, Alliant University (formerly USIU), and Grossmont Cuyamaca Community College (extended studies). In addition, I have choreographed, produced, and directed many concerts and recitals, including The Nutcracker, Beauty and the Beast, Boutique Fantasque, Coppelia, and Scenes from Sleeping Beauty, Carmen, Schubert Dances and others. I danced professionally for many years in northern California with San Francisco Opera Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, San Jose Dance Theater, and Pacific Ballet. I specialize in ballet technique and teach all age groups, including Toddlers and Pre-Ballet through adults. I excel at teaching pointe, variations, and have taught “pas de deux”.
