Service Description
I have worked as the SAT/ACT Instruction manager with a tutoring company for the last two years. As the manager, I ensured that all of my students worked with the best instructors and had customized programs to fit their individual needs. I also worked with the students directly and adapted their programs as needed. In my time as the manager, I personally saw an average of 150 point improvement on the SAT with a maximum improvement of 290 points! I also saw an average of 4 point improvement on the ACT with a maximum improvement of 11 points!
I personally took the Praxis 1 exam in 2008 and saw that it is very similar to the SAT. I feel comfortable using my SAT knowledge to assist with Praxis 1 help.
I am newly qualified to tutor GED Prep. A friend asked me if I would be interested in helping her son prepare for his GED, so I decided to look into the test deeper. I was happy to look into GED Prep resources so I could become more familiar with the questions and format so I could qualify to tutor that subject as well.

About Me
I love math! In high school, I recognized that most of my teachers only taught formulas and didn’t explain why hey work. So I had to teach myself. That is why I became a math teacher: so I can show students why math works! I soon learned that my passion is one-on-one tutoring. In a large classroom, students can get lost easily; they don’t get the INDIVIDUALIZED attention that they need. I try to give students that attention that they need and want.
I have over 10 years of teaching and tutoring experience. I have worked with students from Kindergarten all the way through college level, and even with adults! For the last two years, I have been working as an SAT/ACT tutor. I love helping students understand the ins and outs of the standardized test that they are preparing for and seeing them reach or exceed their goal score.
I have held a teaching certificate in South Carolina in the past. Since my most recent employer didn’t require that certificate, it recently expired in June, 2019, but I am in the process of reapplying for a current initial certificate.
I love teaching and would be happy to help your child reach his/her goals!
